You'll be safer if you stick together with other human players.

The pool of human lives is shared by all human players in the game. The Hunter has an unlimited number of lives.

The Hunter is nearly impossible to catch unless his energy is fully drained.

The Hunter's pounce can be interrupted with the UV Flashlight .

If your UV Flashlight is unavailable, quickly swap to a UV flare to stay safe from the Hunter.

Defending Nests

Claw Attack

By performing various actions in game you level up Agility, Power and Survivor Rank. To increase Agility, vault and climb over objects and use skills from the Agility tree.To increase Power, engage in combat and use skills from the Power tree. To increase Survivor Rank, complete quests, help survivors and participate in challenges.

The Agility
tree allows you to outrun your opponents. (Note: skills from this tree don't usually deal damage.) To increase Agility Level, perform climbs, jumps or other freerunning moves and use skills from the Agility tree.

The Power
tree allows you to face your opponents directly. You'll hit hard and leave lots of dead bodies in your path. To increase the Power Level, engage in combat, kill your enemies creatively and use skills from the Power tree.

The Survivor
Rank gives you access to supporting abilities, blueprints and gadgets. To increase Survivor Rank, complete quests, help other survivors, and participate in challenges. The higher your Rank, the better the equipment offered by Shops.

Challenges are a great way to increase your Power or Agility Proficiency. Some characters will challenge you to perform some tasks really quickly to test your freerunning or combat skills. Look also for Infestation signs in various parts of the Quarantine Zone.

Combat Challenges
You will have to finish off enemies as fast as possible using a variety of weapons. Some of these challenges will ask you to dispatch enemies in very specific ways, so be prepared.

Running Challenges
You will have to get through a set route as fast as possible using your freerunning skills. You might also have to sneak past enemies or not let them hit you.

Quarantine Zone Challenges
You will have to get through infestation areas heavily populated with various deadly enemies. Time is not a factor, but you will have to either remove all Infected or retrieve specific items inside the area.

Challenge Progress
If a challenge seems too hard for you, or even impossible, try to progress your character before trying again. New skills can make the difference.

In daylight you can explore the city and search for supplies with relative ease. After nightfall, though, the zombies become much more agile and dangerous, so you have to use all the tools at your disposal to survive till sunrise. And given the number of the Infected, fighting is usually out of the question.

What’s worse, the Volatiles, a special kind of night zombie, emerge from the shadows and begin to hunt. Simply waiting out the night is not always an option, as only after dark you can complete certain objectives, find rare loot, and get major bonuses to your experience levels.
