CinemaNow is a digital entertainment service that offers instant access to an extensive library of premium video content for rental and purchase. Our service features new movie releases and TV shows with absolutely no subscription required.
You must be signed in to your Xbox One to access CinemaNow. To sign in, press and select Switch Profile.
If you do not have a CinemaNow account, please visit www.cinemanow.com/register to sign up. You can even sign up on your Xbox One using the Internet Explorer (IE) app. To quickly navigate to the CinemaNow web site in IE, visit the Settings page ( > Settings) and select the customer support tile.

Once you have signed up for a CinemaNow account, all that’s left is to activate your Xbox One and you can start buying, renting and watching your favorite movies or TV.

To activate your Xbox One, navigate to My Library (Home > My Library) and select Activate. From here, you are presented with two options:

  1. You may simply log in using your CinemaNow username and password.
  2. Or you may visit cinemanow.com/deviceactivation and provide the 6 digit activation code provided on the screen.

After that, you’re all set to start building your personal digital library. And if you ever want to deactivate your account, visit the Settings page ( > Settings).

CinemaNow supports purchasing and playing UltraViolet (UV) content. UV titles purchased through the Xbox One app will synchronize with your linked UV account. You will not be able to purchase or play UV content if your UV account is not linked and active. To create or link an UltraViolet account with CinemaNow, visit www.cinemanow.com/myaccount

If you encounter trouble with video playback, here are some common solutions:

Try restarting the video by backing out of playback and playing the video again. You will resume right where you left off.

Stop file transfers and audio/video streaming on other devices. Other computers or devices connected to and using your household Internet connection can reduce available broadband and negatively impact the quality video we are able to deliver.

Restart your Internet modem and router to ensure you have the best possible connection to your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

If you’ve set Parental Controls on your Xbox One console, they also apply to the CinemaNow app. Parental Controls set on the CinemaNow website or on other CinemaNow compatible devices do not affect Parental Controls on the Xbox One.

Change the default video purchase type from high definition (HD) video to standard definition (SD) video. Note: A title purchased in SD cannot be upgraded to HD at a later time.

Closed captions (spoken words translated to text) are available in English for most movies and TV shows, but are not supported during trailers. Videos with closed captions are indicated by the closed captions symbol. To turn on or off closed captions while watching a video, open the player controls with and select CC.
Any video you buy or rent on the CinemaNow website or through other CinemaNow apps across many TVs and devices are added to My Library. Select the My Library tab or press from the Home tab to start watching your favorite movies and TV shows instantly.
When you find a movie or TV show you want to save for later, add it to your Wish List. Feel free to add numerous titles as they are automatically moved to My Library when purchased, or can be removed from the Wish List page (Home > My Library > Wish List) manually by navigating to a title and pressing
A history of your recently searched terms is saved to make it easier to search for similar content. On the Search page you can press to view your Search History. Your Search History can be cleared by visiting the Settings page ( > Settings).
