  1. Download ENCORE Play from the Xbox One Apps
  2. Select ‘Activate ENCORE Play’
  3. Once you receive the 4 digit code, you should access activate.encoreplay.com on your web browser on your computer or mobile web browser.
  4. Enter the Xbox One code (4 digit) on your computer or mobile web browser and then authenticate with your cable provider (assuming your cable provider offers ENCORE Play access).

  • What are parental controls? That is a great question…thank you for asking!

    Parental controls are settings within the ENCORE Play application that will allow parents to control what content can or cannot be seen on ENCORE Play. If you have young children and you only want G rated movies that can be set in the controls. If you would like to only see PG-13 and TV-14 movies that can also be set in the controls. The ENCORE Play parental controls are a view only on the Xbox One application. If you would like to set parental controls or modify any existing parental controls that is done on www.encoreplay.com Open www.encoreplay.com – Log in with your cable provider – Open My Account – Select Parental Controls You can modify your Xbox One parental controls from the Family Settings on your Xbox

  • The content isn’t playing correctly, or the video playback is choppy…why?

    “Choppy” or stuttering video playback is often caused by a slow internet connection. The “buffering” that takes place is unable to keep up with the speed of the video playback, and as a result, the video has to keep stopping to catch up. ENCORE Play can usually work around this by detecting your bandwidth and adjusting the visual quality accordingly, or by increasing the buffer. Please note that a minimum bandwidth of 2.5 Mbps is required but we recommend at least 6 Mbps from a wired or wifi connection for the best viewing experience!

  • I clicked ‘play’ on a title but it didn’t start from the beginning. What’s wrong?

    There’s actually nothing wrong at all. It’s simply that the chosen title has already been played and stopped, and ENCORE Play is resuming from where you left off. If you want to start from the beginning, you can easily start the movie or show again, or rewind to the place from which you want to begin.

  • Can ENCORE Play stream in HD?

    Yes, ENCORE Play offers select titles in HD via your Xbox One Console! Minimum Bandwidth: 2.5Mbps, but we recommend at least 6 Mbps for the best experience.

  • I entered my cable provider’s username and password; however, I am not able to play any movies. What is happening?

    If you have successfully authenticated with your cable provider you will see their logo in the upper right corner of the application. If you do not see the logo in the upper right corner you will need to enter your credentials again.

  • What are the minimum system requirements for ENCORE Play?

    Xbox One Console Minimum Network Bandwidth: 2.5Mbps, but we recommend at least 6 Mbps for the best experience.

  • I am having trouble logging in. What do I do?

    The first thing to do is check and make sure you are entering the correct username and password. It’s the same username and password that you use to log in to your television provider’s website.

  • Okay, I’ve confirmed that my login is accurate, but I still can’t watch anything. What’s the deal?

    Please make sure that you are using the correct account from your television provider. Some television providers have different accounts associated with the services they offer. You may log in to a dot com account to pay your bill, but then use a dot net account for email. Check with your provider to determine the correct account to use and if your ENCORE account is active.

  • I have activated ENCORE Play but know where do I enter this PIN number?

    After you receive the 4 digit PIN open a web browser on a mobile device or on a computer and open this website: www.activate.encoreplay.com Enter the 4 digit PIN in text box and click the arrow to submit the PIN

  • I don’t see my TV Provider listed. When will they offer ENCORE Play?

    We are working closely with all TV providers across the nation to bring ENCORE Play to every ENCORE subscriber. It won’t be long before the big originals and movies on ENCORE Play are available to you; so check back regularly or call your provider and tell them you want ENCORE Play.

  • My TV Provider offers ENCORE Play, but I don’t see it listed in the ENCORE Play app. What’s wrong?

    There are two possible answers to this problem. First, your TV provider may not actually support ENCORE Play yet, even if you are being told otherwise. It can take time to launch ENCORE Play in every market. If you have double-checked and know for certain that they do support ENCORE Play check to see if you have the most current version of the mobile app. An older version may not detect your TV provider.

  • I don’t see any of the titles. Why isn’t the catalog loading?

    First, we guarantee the titles haven’t gone anywhere. The issue here is one of bandwidth. If there is limited bandwidth to your Xbox One Console, the system will have trouble loading our huge library of titles, which in turn causes the error. You can run a test on your system to see if you are getting the bandwidth you should be getting, and if you’re not, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

  • I’m getting a Simultaneous Streams Error. What am I doing wrong?

    Uh oh, stream overload. There are several reasons this could happen. The most common answer is that you are trying to stream to more than four devices at one time. However, if you know that is not the case, try removing some devices from your account and trying again. You can always add these devices again later.

  • ENCORE Play is buffering on my Xbox One. Why is this buffering happening?

    That is due to a slower than required internet bandwidth issue. ENCORE Play Minimum Bandwidth for the Xbox One is 2.5Mbps, but we recommend at least 6 Mbps for the best experience.

I would like to unlink My Xbox Live Membership from my ENCORE Play Account.

  1. Select the "Menu Button" on the controller
  2. Select "Settings" from the menu
  3. Select the "Account Management" tab
  4. Select the "Unlink This App From Your ENCORE Play Profile" button

This will remove your authentication to ENCORE Play. If you come back to ENCORE Play on your Xbox One you will have to re-activate your Xbox One and enter your cable provider credentials again.

  • Is closed captioning available?

    Closed captioning is supported on most titles and can be turned on during playback mode.

  • Is ENCORE Play available internationally?

    No. At the moment, ENCORE Play is only available to ENCORE subscribers who live in the United States and its legal territories.

  • How do I get ENCORE?

  • Do I have to pay an additional fee to use ENCORE Play?

    No, there’s nothing more to pay. ENCORE Play is a free service offered to all ENCORE subscribers. As long as you subscribe to ENCORE through an approved TV provider you will always have free access to ENCORE Play. The app is free as well!
