In Lacrosse 16 during a career, if you choose the Star or Rookie Player options, you control one player in a team. In this mode you are able to call for your teammates to perform certain actions.

  • IN ATTACK
    When in attack select the following options to call for an action to occur.

    • CALL FOR PASS
      To call for a player to pass the ball to you, presswhen your teammate is in possession of the ball.

    • CALL FOR SHOT
      To call for a player to shoot the ball, press when your teammate is in possession of the ball.

  • IN DEFENSE
    When in defense select the following options to call for an action to occur.

    • CALL FOR BODY CHECK
      To call for a player to body check the ball carrier, press.

    • CALL FOR STICK CHECK
      To call for a player to stick check the ball carrier, press.

    • CALL FOR DOUBLE TEAM
      To call for a player to double team the ball carrier, press.

    In Lacrosse 16 Face Offs are an integral part to starting off a game, quarter and restarts after a goal.

  • FACE OFFS
    Perform the following moves in a face off battle to try and outwit your opponent.

    • CLAMP
      To perform a Clamp move at the Face Off, use . The Clamp will beat Jump and match it with Laser. If won, the Clamp will push the ball forward out of a face off.
    • JUMP
      To perform a Jump move at the Face Off, use . The Jump will beat Laser and match it with Jam. If won, the Jump will push the ball backward out of a face off.
    • LASER
      To perform a Laser move at the Face Off, use . The Laser will beat Jam and match it with Clamp. If won, the Laser will push the ball left out of a face off.
    • JAM
      To perform a Jam move at the Face Off, use . The Jam will beat Clamp and match it with Jump. If won, the Jam will push the ball right out of a face off.
  • AIM PASS
    To aim where your pass will go, use.


  • PASS
    To pass the ball use. Aim your pass with.


  • FAKE PASS
    To perform a fake pass, holdto wind up pass and tap to cancel the pass.


  • FAKE SHOT TO PASS
    To perform a fake shot to pass, useand tap.

    In Lacrosse 16 you can perform a number of different checks to attempt to disrupt the ball carriers momentum, rhythm and movement to force a loose ball and cause a turnover.

  • POKE CHECK
    To perform a poke check, tap; The poke check is a ranged version of a stick check, aimed at disrupting the ball carriers rhythm and attempt to make the ball carrier lose control of the ball.

  • STICK CHECK
    To perform any of the following checks, use stick check modifier by holdingand selecting one of the relevant stick directions or just press a relevant face button.

    • RUSTY GATE / KAYAK CHECK
      To perform a rusty gate / kayak check, move while holding or press ; The rusty / kayak check is performed when the ball carrier is behind your player.

    • WRAP CHECK
      To perform a wrap check, move while holding or or pressor; The wrap check is performed when side on to the ball carrier.

    • SLAP / OVER CHECK
      To perform a slap / over check, move while holding or press ; The slap / over check is performed when front on to the ball carrier.

  • BODY / CROSS CHECK
    To perform a body / cross check, movein the direction of the ball carrier; A body / cross check should be performed when in close proximity of the offensive player. An illegal body / cross check occurs when performing this move in the back of the offensive ball carrier.

    In Lacrosse 16 you can shoot for goal with. There are a number of variations you can apply to shooting.

  • AIM SHOT
    To aim where your shot will go, use.

  • QUICK SHOT
    To perform a quick shot, use.

  • POWER UP SHOT
    To perform a power up shot, useto wind up and thento release the shot.

  • DIVE SHOT
    To perform a dive shot, movedown and in a downward semi-circle.

  • BEHIND THE BACK SHOT
    To perform a behind the back shot, holdand movedown and in a downward semi-circle.

  • FAKE SHOT
    To perform a fake shot, useand tap.

  • FAKE SHOT TO PASS
    To perform a fake shot to pass, useand tap.

    In Lacrosse 16 dodge and evade your opponent with. There are a number of variations you can apply to evasions.

  • FACE DODGE
    To perform a face dodge, moveor.

  • SPLIT DODGE
    To perform a split dodge, tap.

  • SWIM DODGE
    To perform a swim dodge, holdand moveor.

  • BULL DODGE
    To perform a bull dodge, holdand move.

  • ROLL DODGE
    To perform a roll dodge, holdand move.

    In Lacrosse 16 you can call formation changes on the fly during a game to help gain the ascendancy on your opponent.

  • OFFENSIVE FORMATIONS
    To view and select offensive formations, pressor. Highlight the option you wish to select and use.

  • DEFENSIVE FORMATIONS
    To view and select defensive formations, pressor. Highlight the option you wish to select and use.

Pressduring gameplay to display the in game Pause menu. From the pause menu you may select either Resume; Game Progress; Replay; Team Management; Side Select; Settings; Exit, or view the Challenges / Objectives for the current game. The menu options available will change based on the mode you are playing.

View your ranking compared to the rest of the world or your friends.

To select either the home or away side, move your controller icon to the side you wish to join and pressto confirm. Leave your controller centred away from both to spectate the game.

Move and left and right to select a league and team for the home and away sides. Pressto confirm.

Move and left and right to select the jersey for your team and pressconfirm.

Once you have chosen your teams and jerseys, you can choose to configure various settings, move and to choose an option, then and to configure it.

    Proceeds to the game.

  • GAME SETTINGS
    Adjusts various game settings including Quarter Length, Stadium, Weather, Rules and Difficulty.

  • TEAM MANAGEMENT
    Used to adjust the Team Line-Up and assign various player roles.

  • QUICK GAME
    Play competitively with other players online. Skills are normalized and game settings pre-set to avoid any fuss from the users end.

  • CUSTOM GAME
    Customize your competitive experience with other players online; adjust various game settings including Quarter Length, Stadium and Weather, while also choosing whether to allow on-disk teams, custom teams and normalized skills. You may also set the game to private so that it can only be searched by name.

  • HEADLINES
    Will show you the most relevant news items as your career progresses. You will be able to see game and competition results as well as standings for your team. Injury news and retirements will also show on this screen.
  • OBJECTIVES
    Tasks that you will be able to aim to complete either for a single game or over a season to earn extra career points to spend on boosts.
  • CALENDER
    View upcoming events and choose to simulate ahead to a specific date.
  • RECRUITING
    View potential trading options, make trade offers and draft players.
  • STATISTICS
    View statistics for the current season of your career.
  • STANDINGS
    View the standings of your competition.
  • SCHEDULE
    View upcoming schedule and past results of your competition.
  • SETTINGS
    Adjust the settings of your current career, Quarter Length, Game Difficulty, Trading Difficulty.
  • CONTINUE CAREER
    Continue your most recently created career.
  • LOAD CAREER
    Load any career you have started.
  • DELETE CAREER
    Delete careers you no longer want.
Start a New Career by pressing. Adjust settings you wish to have for your career, such as Quarter Length, Game Difficulty and Trading Difficulty.

Select if you would like to swap out any Leagues for a Lacrosse Academy created League, then proceed by pressing.

Choose whether you want to start your career as a Star Player, Rookie Player or Coach.


Allows you to take control of an existing player in any team and attempt to continue their career and take them to the ultimate heights of winning titles and MVPs.


Play as any player from any team. Select and pressto play.


Start a career at any age and make your way through the college system, right up to professional level!


You will first be asked to join a team. You will only be able to choose from college teams, a stronger team will be harder to get into the selected sides than weaker teams.


After selecting your team, you will need to set up the identity of your player, options include First and Last name, Jersey Number, Jersey Name, Commentary Surname, Primary Role, Country and Preferred Hand. When done, highlight Continue and Press.


Next you will be asked to set the appearance of the player, which you can build from scratch or make a copy from the Lacrosse Academy or an on-disk visual. When done, highlight Continue and Press.


Finally, you will be asked to set the skills and attributes you wish to assign your player. Take note of your Position description to assist you in what areas you may wish to put your allocated points into. Once you have spent all your points, pressto start your career.

The Career Hub consists of a number of areas which can be utilized to help manage and control your career game.

Coach career mode allows you to manage, recruit and train your team to the play style you prefer over a number of years. You may also choose whether to play the games out, simulate or spectate them.

You will be able to choose which team you will take control over. After you have chosen the team you wish to coach, proceed by pressing.

Once you have chosen a team to coach you will be given several sponsorship options to choose from. Each sponsor will have a sign on fee and bonus if you complete the given objectives, you can choose to risk losing a big bonus for a harder objective or go for an easier objective with a lower bonus. Presswhen you have chosen your desired sponsor.

After setting up your sponsor you will then be taken to the support team options. Here you will be able to select from several support team options all with their own benefits. Each support team has 4 skills that they can offer attracting players, retaining players, injury/fatigue recovery and form/confidence. You will be able to choose whether you wish to take a balanced support team in or whether you go for a support team that specialises in a specific skill but may lack in other areas. Presswhen you have chosen your desired support team.

Choose squad numbers to assign to your playing roster. Once you have selected the numbers you wish to have, pressto proceed to the Career Hub.

Allows you to quickly skip forward to your next event. Before a game you will be asked to pick your squad for the upcoming game. You can auto-generate the squad if you wish.

After selecting your squad you can move forward to game day. From here you are able to choose whether to play or simulate the game. If choosing to play you will be able to select attribute boosts for that game. To purchase a boost, highlight the boost you wish to purchase and press. If you wish to get a refund on your boost, pressagain on that boost. When you're ready to play, select the Play Game tile and pressto proceed.

To spectate the game and have no control over gameplay, but be able to manage substitutions select the Spectate Game tile.

The Team Management screen allows you to view information about your playing roster. View a player's form and attributes.

Trading / Drafting will offer the opportunity to draft and trade players from both the collegiate draft pool and supplemental draft pool. Drafting occurs late in the year.

  • SEARCH / TRADE FOR PLAYERS
    Search for players that you wish to trade into your team. Approximately a month after the season ends you will be able to offer to trade for the players you are searching for. To view a players overall attributes, press . To add a player to your watch list so you can keep an eye on their ratings throughout the year press . Swap between your watch listed players and the overall search list by pressing . Pressto filter players by surname, role, league and team. To confirm your filter options, press.

  • WATCH LIST
    View the players you have added to your watch list. If you wish to trade for them, press .

  • DRAFTS
    The draft will occur at the end of the season, for Professional leagues only. You will be able to trade your draft picks in the interim before the draft. Once draft day begins you will be able to select from the collegiate draft class. After the collegiate draft, you will go through the Supplemental draft to pick up any unprotected players that are available.

Competition mode allows you to play major Lacrosse competitions, leagues and custom edited competitions and tournaments.

  • COLLEGE COMPETITION
    Start a new College Competition. Upon starting a New College Competition you will be presented with your League's schedule, standings, statistics and tournament finals schedule.

    Pressto play a game between the highlighted teams. Pressto simulate the game andto simulate the round.

  • PROFESSIONAL COMPETITION
    Start a new Professional Competition. Upon starting a New Professional Competition you will be presented with your League's schedule, standings, statistics and tournament finals schedule.

    Pressto play a game between the highlighted teams. Pressto simulate the game andto simulate the round.

  • CONTINUE COMPETITION
    This will allow you to quickly return to your last played competition.

  • CUSTOM COMPETITION
    In custom competition mode you can set up customized leagues or knockout tournaments. A customized league can be created with customizable teams, rules, how many times each team will play each other, the tournament finals system and the trophy that is awarded at the end of the competition. The customized knockout tournament mode allows you to customize the rules, teams and trophy awarded at the end of the competition. Custom Competition mode also allows you to choose how many users can control each team.

  • LOAD COMPETITION
    Select and load previously started competitions.

  • DELETE COMPETITION
    Select and delete previously played competitions.

The Lacrosse Academy is a creation suite that allows you to create, share and download players, coaches, referees and teams from the community.


Edit any of the on-disk players or create your own custom player that can be a free agent or added to a custom team or an on-disk team.


The Player Editor allows you to edit a players' appearance, identity and attributes. Also allows you to customize a players' crosse, war paint and tattoos.

Edit any of the on-disk teams or create your own. The Team editor allows you to change the identity, roster, home ground, lineups and jerseys of any Team.

Create and edit the coaches that will coach your team.

Create and edit the referees that appear in your games.

Create and edit your own custom League to feature in Career mode.

View from thousands of uploaded players, coaches, referees and teams.
