The kingdom of Aventana is a land rich with tales of mythical beasts and legends of shining heroes. One of these stories tells of an evil demon terrorizing the land, spreading like a deadly mist across peaceful forests, bustling towns and even the sea.
The king was desperate for a way to save his country, so he called out to the people for a hero to face the Horde, as the demon was soon called. A nameless man stepped forward with a shining crystal sword in one hand and a mysteriously glowing orb in the other.
A fierce battle ensued and for a moment it seemed as if nothing could hurt the Horde, but then the orb began to glow and first slowly, then with an ever-growing pull, sucked the demon into its translucent prison.
The man vanished after the battle, leaving only the orb behind, which was promptly brought to the castle to lock it away for all eternity. To honor the heroic deed of the nameless man, the kingdom was named after the one word engraved in the sword: “Aventana”

The legend of the Horde was passed from father to son over many generations, but soon became nothing more than a bedtime story to scare little children. Today, no one can tell whether there is some truth left in the tale or if it was just the dream of a nameless man.
SwapQuest is a brand new puzzle-rpg, though it approaches this mix from a different angle. Instead of adding rpg elements to a puzzle game, SwapQuest aims to blend both genres in equal measure.
You choose a character, a class and train your abilities throughout the adventure. The big difference to traditional rpgs is that you don’t control your character directly, but the world instead, which is made up of thousands of blocks with different paths on them. Your hero follows a path as long as it is not disconnected. It is your task to build a path to the exit in an ever-changing level.
On your way you find treasure chests filled with jewels, dangerous enemies you can fight and many objects to interact with.
Wilbert: Wilbert is the son of Wilfreed and Agneta and the younger brother of Wilma. He has been out in the fields going on big adventures ever since he could hold the wooden sword his father made for him. He is a lively kid with a big heart, but also the first one to bid farewell when it’s time for his daily chores.

Wilma: Wilma is the daughter of Wilfreed and Agneta and Wilbert’s older sister. She is a serious child with a quick mind that never gives up once she has devoted herself to a task. If she could, she would spend every day in the castle library, studying the culture and history of Aventana.

Wilfreed: Wilfreed is the king of Aventana. He likes to think of himself as a man of the people, although he rarely leaves the castle.

Agneta: Agneta is the queen of Aventana. She used to be the political leader of the kingdom, travelling from town to town to hear the needs of her people.
Noble: The Noble is a balanced class that is suited for most players.
Ability: The more jewels you have, the bigger is the attack bonus you get.

The Rogue is the fastest class in the game, but doesn’t deal as much damage.
Ability: Shadow the dog brings items to you.

The Fighter is a strong, but slow class that specializes in combat.
Ability: If you manage to dodge an attack, you get to deal an additional blow.

The Acolyte is one of the weaker classes, but has high endurance due to its healing abilities.
Ability: Sometimes prevents negative status effects.

The Trickster is a class trained in the dark arts of magic.
Ability: Some hits generate extra jewels for you.

The Tinkerer loves to play around with gadgets.
Ability: Get an experience bonus whenever you deliver a critical strike.
Regardless of whether you play as Wilbert or Wilma, there are different values that determine your hero’s strength. These values increase as you level up or buy new equipment.

• Attack (ATK): your base attack value
• Weapon Strength: added to your attack to determine the damage
• Defense (DEF): your base health value
• Armor Strength: added to your health to determine overall life points
• Speed (SPD): determines who starts attacking in combat
• Luck (LCK): your chance to evade an attack or do a critical attack

Each class has two class transformations during the game, one at level 8 and one at level 16.
A class change not only alters your appearance, but lets you choose between one of two new abilities.
