Saving Games
This game uses an autosave feature. The game will automatically overwrite the previously saved game at milestones and rest points. Do not turn off your console when the autosave icon appears on the right of the screen, as it could result in loss of data.

Quests
Character remarks will often initiate or advance quests. New objectives appear on-screen, and can also be viewed on the Navigation menu.

View the map, check quest objectives, set a destination, or return to where you last rested from this menu.
HP
A character's health is measured in HP, which is listed at the right of the screen. Suffering damage will eventually affect a character's condition.

Danger
A character is in danger when he has 0 HP. His actions will be limited, and any further damage will reduce his maximum HP. A reduced maximum will not recover over time, but can be restored with rest or a potion.

Down
A character is down and cannot act when his maximum HP has fallen to 0. Revive a downed character and restore his maximum HP with rest or a potion. If Noctis goes down, the game is over.

Resting
You can rest by interacting with a campground or caravan. Resting tallies the EXP you've earned in combat, autosaves your game, restores all HP, cures status ailments, and updates your last rest location. When resting at a campground, the food you eat will grant status boosts for the next day. Caravans cost money, but apply a bonus to EXP earned.
