  • Keep moving to stay alive. Use Joule's Jump and Dash abilities to maneuver around enemies and avoid their attacks.
  • Take advantage of the Lock-on mechanic. While Locked-on, you don't have to worry about aiming your shots and can instead focus on dodging enemy attacks.
  • Combos can drastically increase the amount of damage you do. Build up your Combo count by destroying smaller enemies, and then attack larger foes.
  • Damaging an enemy Corebot will cause Layer Breaks (indicated by the black triangles on their health gauge). Layer Breaks add to your Combo count while also leaving the enemy in a vulnerable state.
  • When an enemy Corebot's health is low enough (reduced to the white triangles on their health gauge), you can defeat it by Extracting its Core. Press the Right Thumbstick to fire Joule's Extractor.
  • Extracting is similar to a game of tug-of-war: pull down on the Right Thumbstick until the Extractor cable turns red. Continuing to pull while the cable is red will cause the Extractor to disengage. Feather pressure on the Right Thumbstick while the Extractor cable is red for best results.
  • Achieving a 10-hit Combo allows you to perform an Instant Extraction on an enemy. Simply press the Right Thumbstick to instantly destroy an enemy and everything around it.
  • Charged Shots deal heavy damage in an area. Hitting an enemy with a Charged Shot that matches that enemy's Core color will disrupt its Lethal Ability.
  • Enemy Lethal Abilities can Stun, Destabilize, or catch Joule on Fire. Dash to put out Flames, Jump to stop Destabilize, and waggle the Left Thumbstick to shake off Stun.
  • Always switch your Weapon Affinity color to match the color of an enemy's Core. Same-colored attacks deal 50% more damage to enemies.
  • Use your Corebots' Lethal Abilities as often as you can. The total number of a friendly Corebot's Lethal Abilities are represented by circular icons or "pips" above their health gauge. Lethal Abilities recharge over time.
  • While at the Workbench in her Crawler and at others throughout Far Eden, Joule can craft powerful Parts for her Corebots.
  • To craft a new Part, Joule needs the Blueprint for that Part as well as all the Materials its Blueprint requires.
  • While exploring, keep an eye out for treasure chests known as Resource Caches, which often contain Blueprints and rare Materials.
  • Destroying enemies without extracting their Cores causes them to drop Materials. Different enemy types will drop different Materials. The stronger the enemy, the better quality the Materials.
  • Extracting an enemy's Core will destroy it without dropping any Materials. Enemy Cores can be Fused with like-colored friendly Cores to make the friendly Cores more powerful.
  • Core Fusion allows Joule to increase her friendly Cores' primary attributes or "stats". Leveling-up Cores increases their stat potential-but only Core Fusion increases the actual stats.
