HBO® (Home Box Office) is one of America’s most successful premium television companies. HBO GO® is HBO’s internet streaming service. HBO GO is free with your HBO subscription.
HBO GO on your Xbox One® lets you enjoy your favorite HBO programming, hit movies, sports, documentaries and comedy specials.
To use HBO GO, you need an HBO subscription from your TV provider and a high-speed internet connection.
If your TV provider offers sub-accounts, you should be able to access HBO GO from a sub-account. Please note though that some TV providers block sub-accounts from accessing HBO GO.
Pay-per-view programming is not available through HBO GO.
HBO GO® is only accessible in the U.S. and certain U.S. territories where a high-speed broadband connection is available. Some restrictions may apply.

From the Xbox One® home screen, go to the HBO GO app and press to launch it.
When HBO GO launches, select Welcome and press .
Select Activate HBO GO, press and make a note of the activation code.
From your computer (Mac or Windows PC), go to www.hbogo.com/activate.
On the activation web page, select Xbox One from the Select your device list. Click Continue.
On the Activate Device page, select your TV provider from the Select your HBO® TV Provider grid. If your TV provider is not listed, click More Providers at the bottom of the grid.
Enter the user ID and password for your TV provider account.
If this is the first time that you have activated HBO GO, the site will ask you to register yourself as an HBO GO user.
On the Activate Device page, enter the activation code that was displayed on your Xbox One console. Click Activate.
After a short pause, HBO GO should activate. Your Xbox One screen should display Activation Successful and show your current parental control settings.

From inside the HBO GO® app, press on your controller.
From the context menu, select Settings and press .
From the Settings screen, select Deactivate HBO GO and press .
Press again on Deactivate HBO GO.

From the Xbox One® home screen, select My games & apps and press .
Select the HBO GO tile and press on your controller.
From the context menu, select Uninstall and press .
From the confirmation screen titled, You’re about to uninstall HBO GO, select Uninstall and press .

Closed captioning displays the audio portion of a program as text on your television screen. Closed captioning enables persons with hearing disabilities to access HBO®’s programming. Also, closed captioning can assist in understanding a program's dialog, and can be especially helpful for persons who have English as a second language.
You can turn closed captioning on or off while watching a program by pausing the program with and selecting the closed captioning icon .
You can also turn closed captioning on or off—as well as change how closed captions are displayed—by going to the Closed captioning section of the Xbox One Settings app.

Parental controls enable you to limit what types of HBO® programming are available to members of your household. For example, with parental controls, you can ensure that young persons in your household do not view programming that is intended only for adults.
You can view your current parental control settings by going to HBO GO | Settings. To go there, press the menu button, , and select Settings.
The parental controls for HBO GO® are determined by the parental control settings applied to your Xbox Live®, HBOGO.com and TV provider accounts. HBO GO uses whichever of these settings is most restrictive.
To modify your Xbox Live parental controls, go to the Privacy & online safety section of the Xbox One Settings app.
To modify your HBOGO.com parental controls, sign in to HBOGO.com using your primary account and visit Settings.
To modify your TV provider parental controls, contact your TV provider.

Sometimes, you might want to exit the HBO GO app. For example, if you run into an issue while watching HBO GO, you might try exiting HBO GO and restarting it.
To exit HBO GO, press on your controller to return to the Xbox One home screen.

If you forget your password or username, go to the HBOGO.com website and click Sign In. Select your TV provider and click Continue. You will be taken to your TV provider's website. Follow their instructions for recovering or resetting your password or username.
