TED is a nonprofit devoted to ideas worth spreading. It started out in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: technology, entertainment, and design.

Since then, its scope has become ever broader. Along with two annual conferences — the TED Conference and TEDGlobal — TED includes the award-winning TED Talks video site, the Open Translation Project and TED Conversations, the inspiring TED Fellows and TEDx programs, and the annual TED Prize.

If your video is hesitating, your network might not be fast enough. To make it play more smoothly, lower the video quality.

While the video is playing, do this:

1. Pressto see the video controls.
2. Pressagain to pause the video.
3. Move left to the network icon, then press.
4. Choose a lower video quality.
5. Move right to the play icon, then pressto resume playing the video.

At the lowest quality, the video will look grainy, but it won't need as much network bandwidth to play.

To use voice with TED, say Xbox, select. All the voice commands you can say will turn green.

From anywhere in the TED app, go to the main TED screen by saying Xbox, select then Go to TED home.
